Health and Advice
The Stolen Generations Council NSW/ACT Inc. (SGC) provides comprehensive health advice, counselling, and wellness programs to support survivors and their descendants. Our goal is to promote physical and mental health through personalised care, offering referrals to specialised services when needed.
Collective Healing
We offer a range of healing programs designed to foster emotional, spiritual, and psychological recovery. Our collective healing approach brings together survivors, descendants, their families, and the community to support one another on the journey toward recovery and reconciliation.
Advocacy & Lobbying
As a dedicated representative of Stolen Generations survivors and their descendants, we actively lobby for services and advocate for the rights and needs of the communities we serve. We work with federal and state governments and partners to ensure survivors and their descendants receive the reparation and services they are entitled to.
Reparation Awareness & Education
We provide reparation awareness and education to ensure that survivors and descendants understand their rights and the reparations available to them. This includes offering cultural education programs to promote understanding and awareness within the broader community.
Referrals
As part of our commitment to supporting the health, well-being, and healing of Stolen Generations Survivors and their descendants, the SGC offers a comprehensive referral service to ensure members receive the specialised care and services they need.
Sharing Stories & Community Engagement
Through events like ‘Cuppa and a Yarn’, we create spaces for survivors to share their stories and connect with others in the community. These informal gatherings, alongside larger events support, are critical for building community bonds and promoting healing.
Truth-Telling Opportunities & Remittance
At the discretion of the survivor, we provide referrals and opportunities to share your personal stories at government events, schools, corporate settings, and other public forums. These truth-telling events allow you to educate others and raise awareness of the Stolen Generations’ experiences. In recognition of your time and contribution, you will be compensated for participating in these engagements. We also offer referrals to educational and reparation programs to ensure members understand their rights and can access the services they are entitled to.
